Hello Everyone! You must have heard of the phrase “they are back with a bang this time!”? Yeah! we are. This time we are organizing a Google Maps API CodeLab and a “hackathon” for Business Apps in association with India’s biggest Innovation Fest, Quark 2013 in BITS Pilani, K.K BIRLA GOA CAMPUS.

Google Maps API CodeLab - 1st February, 2013
In this event, you will get a chance to get your hands dirty with the powerful Google Maps API. You will be developing a demo app that’ll help you absorb the various features of the API and it will show you all the cool things that can be done using the API. Its a four hour event on the first day of Quark 2013.
If you got some basic skills ( although not necessary to take part ) like HTML, CSS and JavaScript, this should be the event you must be wanting to be a part of. Make sure you get your laptops and spike guards and leave the rest to the GDG Goa Team. We will take care of everything that you think are needed, like, Internet, Food, Goodies et al. Hackathon for Business Apps
Got some Developer guns in you? Ever wanted to build something that’s developer style and not some pale old-fashioned idea? If the answer is yes, read on, we got something amazing to tickle the developer fantasies within, all in association with Quark 2013.
This hackathon should ideally churn out something that can be transformed into a business idea. You can form your very own team of 5 skilled developers/code artists/non-technical souls who can assist the developers with the business ideas. It is required that you use open source or Google technologies to bring the idea to life. In case you have won previous GDG Hackathons in association with Quark, you get a head start of five points.
Its an overnight event and there are Google *Goodies* this time as well for participants among other prizes. This event has limited slots and they are filling up real quick. So register yourself for the invite-only event and inform your friends about the special event. As always, we take care of everything from RedBull, caffeine that pro-developers demand, and all the way down to - mattresses, in case you need to supercharge by taking a quick nap.
